Residual Client Balances

Professional Firms are often left with client balances where they are unable to trace the client.  Regulations allow such balances to be used for charitable purposes and Wiltshire Community Foundation can transform them into an asset for the community.

Chrisopher Bromfield of Wansbroughs Solicitors says:

"I would urge firms to consider donating their unclaimed client monies to the Foundation to create a fund in the name of their firm, to help people in need, provide a lasting legacy for the community and help meet their corporate social responsibility objectives."

How we can help professional firms:

- We can hold funds in a general endowment earmarked for your firm rather than remaining inactive and subject to audit every year.

- We will sign an indemnity and repay the funds should your client contact you and ask that that monies be returned.

- Our experience and expertise enables firms to utilise residual client balances to donate to local charities and achieve real impact across a range of themes and good causes.
