Matched funding opportunity for donors

We currently have matched funding available enabling donors to double the impact of their funding for young people.

The #iwill Youth Social Action programme aims to inspire young people, particularly those living in deprived areas, to take part in activities that benefit the place they live, through campaigning, volunteering and fundraising.  Projects are shaped by young peoples’ ideas and have a positive impact on their community. They lead young people into volunteering and involvement in community groups and help develop skills to benefit future employment and career paths.

For every £1 you donate to the fund we will make £2.25 of grants (including gift aid, less a 10% contribution to the running costs of the programme).  You can also set up your own #iwill named fund, acknowledged in our annual Impact Report, for donations of £2,000 or more. This means that for a £2,000 donation (plus gift aid, less 10% contribution) you will have a grants fund of £4500! And if we’re once again successful in attracting matched funding we hope to leverage in even more money for Wiltshire and Swindon for years 3 and 4 of the programme. For more information about donating to the fund please contact or call us on 01380 729284.

We have seen the benefits to young people who took part in this programme last year.  We recently met with teenagers from the Platform Project in Swindon who were given a grant to write, develop and produce documentary films. Their first film, Diary of a Social Conscience, focussed on homelessness and has been well received for shining a light on a real social issue.  However the real benefit has been the increase in confidence it has given them, as well as a taste of skills that could lead to employment in the future. You can see their film on YouTube.
