University Bursary - One Degree More

Wiltshire Community Foundation offers bursaries of £1,600 to young people in Wiltshire or Swindon aged 17-24 to support the costs of studying an undergraduate degree at university.  The One Degree More bursary is awarded for each year of a course as long as circumstances remain the same.

Who is eligible to apply - you can apply for a university bursary if you:

  • aged between 17 and 24
  • have lived in Wiltshire or Swindon for at least 2 years
  • you, your parents of guardians receive 2 means-tested benefits or 2 elements of Universal Credit - further information on Means Tested Benefits 
  • are eligible for funding through Student Finance England
  • are studying for your first undergraduate degree at a UK university or institution

What can the bursary be used for - bursaries can be used towards:

  • general living expenses
  • course costs
  • travel costs (excluding studying abroad)
  • books and equipment
