Wiltshire and Swindon Coronavirus Response Fund

Support our Coronavirus fund for voluntary groups

In mid-March we launched the Wiltshire and Swindon Coronavirus Response Appeal to provide immediate relief to vulnerable local people through the amazing network of small grassroots community groups operational across the county. Thanks to the generosity of the people of Swindon and Wiltshire, the fund grew quickly and by the end of September it had risen to more than £1.1 million. Already we have distributed £925,000 via 200 grants to groups helping 130,000 people.

Sadly, the pandemic is here to stay for longer than any of us hoped and day by day we are hearing more and more stories of hardship and suffering. Many local community groups are facing the prospect of closure as they deal with the impact of lost income from fundraising events and increased costs due to higher demand on their services.  The reality is that without funding, our community groups will disappear.

With over 45 years of experience, we know the importance of protecting our local voluntary sector. Life without community groups is unimaginable so we have committed to doubling our support for community groups in 2020/21 as they battle to survive this crisis, but to do this, we need your help.

If you are able to donate, you can do so online via our Localgiving page here: Wiltshire and Swindon Coronavirus Response Appeal

Together, we can help our local communities by supporting the voluntary sector to do what they do best, providing support where it is needed most.
